UFAS Incident Stop/Informative Message

From (IC - Role and Name) Informative message UFAS incident at (Premises Name and Address)  - Source of alarm (Heat, Smoke, etc) - Cause of alarm... UFAS Incident Policy implemented - Stop Code **** - Tactical Mode.

Buildings

  • C - Correct Address
  • W - What is the use of the premises
  • H - Height/number of storeys
  • A - Area (metres x metres)
  • L - Location/Extent of Fire
  • E - Equipment in Use
  • T - Tactical Mode
  • C - Command Support Pump

Ships

  • T - Type of Vessel
  • N - Name of Vessel
  • T - Tonnage
  • L - Lying/Berth
  • C - Cargo

Example Radio Messages:

INF: From (IC - Role and Name) at inc address - This is small fire in single-story end of terrace unoccupied commercial property - Approximately 20 m x 30 m 1 HRJ and 2 BA in use - offensive mode.

FURTHER INF: From (IC - Role and Name) at inc address - PPV fan is now in use for tactical ventilation purposes - request ETA for police Scotland to attend - offensive mode.

STOP: From (IC - Role and Name) at inc address - Stop as per last informative message - appliances detained approximately 20 mins - offensive mode.

Secondary Fires

Stop messages for secondary fires should contain codes denoting accidental or deliberate ignition. i.e.

Deliberate ignition - Code 1

Accidental ignition - Code 2

Example: Derelict vehicle on fire, 1HRJ in use, code 1.

Road Traffic Collisions

Medically Trapped - Casualties are trapped due to extent of injuries.

Physically trapped - Casualties are trapped by the vehicle or parts, includes impalements.

Immediate release - Casualties life is in immediate danger, extracting as quickly as possible.

Emergency plan - Allow swift extraction if condition worsens prior to full plan.

Full plan - Implement after emergency plan, allows full controlled extraction.

Example Radio Messages:

INF: 2 private cars involved in RTC, 1 car on roof - 2 adult males, 1 adult female casualty involved - 1 male, 1 female released prior to arrival of Fire Service - 1 male still within vehicle medically trapped - Proceeding with emergency plan of opening passenger side door - Police and Ambulance in attendance, offensive mode.

FURTHER INF: Emergency plan now viable, now proceeding with full plan of roof removal as casualty complaining of neck pain, now using hydraulic equipment to create space, offensive mode.

FURTHER INF/STOP: 1 male casualty now released from vehicle and being checked by Ambulance Service, casualty will be transported by ambulance to xxxxx hospital with suspected C-spine injuries, offensive mode.
